A stitch in time

What do these things have in common?

They are all nine. Turn me on, dead man.

During my junior year of college, I spent a lot of time collecting mirrors and chandelier crystals and painting things pink and gold. I’m not sure why I’m telling you this.

Hey, now. I know you’re sad that the David statues from Youngwood Court are gone. But there’s no need to cry. I’m serious – dry your eyes and look at this house I just saw on Virgil Avenue.

Wow. Who are those guys up on the roof? Can we get a closer look?

Hm. Not much help. Is that Kenny Rogers? Kenny Loggins? ’70s-era Jon Peters?* Let’s just say it’s Zeus. House of Zeuses, you are rather remarkable. Winged Victory is guarding the mail, even.

Nobody’s stealing the latest Lillian Vernon catalog out of that stronghold.

So why are you still crying? You say you still miss the Davids?

All right. Here are a few Davids for you, then. Now won’t you please cheer up?

*UPDATE: I just figured out who it is. Dan Haggerty.

Waiting for the Raptor

Having grown up in a Creative Initiative household where we learned the connections between all religions, this cartoon makes perfect sense to me:

Okay; no, it doesn’t. Now what’s this about a dinosaur blowing a trumpet around dinnertime tonight?
