Word of the day for Wednesday, November 6th

It may be a good idea for you to make sure you know what language your audience speaks before you use today’s word. Today’s word?

Fika! It means “drinking coffee along with eating something sweet” in Swedish, “not sweet enough” in Hindi, “snot” in Hungarian, “jump” or “hop” in Polish and “to arrive” in Swahili. Fica, pronounced the same way as the Swedish fika, means “to stay” in Portuguese and “(sexy ladyparts)” in Italian. Good to know when you’re out and about wearing your t-shirt from the Festival Internacional de Cinema e vídeo Ambiental.
